Issue 32
I have had many of my parishioners ask me about the process of Flagellation, what it entails, and how they may be of service to our war effort against the nonbelievers through it, so I have written this missive to inform those loyal worshipers of His Holy Darkness who want to honor Him through sacrifice. Flagellation is the process through which we sacrifice flesh to His Holy Darkness, and through our faith are given many gifts that we may use to slaughter His enemies. This process can be done one of many ways. The more common way that one of His followers who is not in current military service may help the war effort is to sacrifice their own flesh willingly to those who do serve Him in conquest. This process is done by one of His Apparatchiks over a series of weeks, preparing the body of the volunteer to be consumed by His warriors through a process of living preservation. Using embalming fluids, necromantic magic, and vivisection, the body is preserved, as if dead, before being slain by His warriors and feasted upon. The consumption of this preserved flesh offers His warriors greater physical resilience and mental acuity during battle, giving us the edge over the blasphemers. This is the greatest sacrifice that a civilan can perform for His army, and offers a seat at His table in the Blessed Night, partaking of the spoils of His conquest forever. This is not a process to be taken lightly, as He may have greater use for some who would volunteer for this process, such as becoming one of his loyal Apparatchiks or warriors. This is a topic to discuss with the leader of your local Night Church. Another common Flagellation one of His army sacrificing parts of their own body. This is done either through self injury, starvation or dehydration, or other forms of sacrifice. The abilities granted by this Flagellation depends on what sacrifice was made. This process in entirely up to the discretion of the warrior. His Holy Darkness requires sacrifice from all of his loyal followers, but the degree to which this is done depends on the task at hand. A controversial practice, according to our “spiritual leaders” to the north, is the Flagellation of others within the flock. Know this, those of you who may listen to the words of the heretic “apparatchiks” to the north, His Holy Darkness does not tolerate weakness. Any member of the flock who is so foolish as to allow themselves to come to harm is not worthy of the Blessed Night, and their righteous death is their way of serving His mission.
